Crisis and Emergency Procedures

If a crisis occurs while a consumer is receiving services from PRIDE In North Carolina please know that we have established procedures for handling the situation whether it is medically, mentally related or caused by natural/environmental factors.

Specific staff within PRIDE are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this is called First Responder. Upon admission to any service we will discuss how and when to use this emergency numbers and the importance of a Crisis Plan for the consumer. Types of emergencies that have specific plans are:

  • Consumer Behavior
  • Involuntary commitment/hospitalization
  • Suicide Emergencies
  • Elopement or Runaway
  • Emergency Medical Treatment
  • Fire
